The idea of meeting your soulmate is one of the most amazing feeling ever. A soulmate is an individual that has a lasting impact on your life.
How to Know You’ve Met Your Soulmate
If you are wondering if you’ve met your soulmate or are currently with your unique search. There is a write up by one of my favorite author on Instagram, Rainbow Salt, she said;
Fall in love with someone who chooses you. Someone who fights for what you have when difficulty hangs heavy in the air, someone who insists that you are stronger together, capable of beating the odds, capable of turning even the messiest parts of life into lessons instead of reasons to leave. Fall in love with someone who is your calm place in a chaotic world; someone who builds your restless heart a safe space within their own.
Fall in love with someone who loves you quietly. Someone who takes the time to remember how you like your coffee in the morning, someone who just picks up on your energy because they have made the effort to dive into the depth of it. Fall in love with someone who pays attention, someone who reaches for your hand when you’re having a nightmare, someone who holds you a little tighter when the world tries to soften you. Fall in love with someone who cares enough to truly see you.
Fall in love with someone who inspires you to be a better person. Someone who shows you the gardens within your soul where you only ever used to see cemeteries. Fall in love with someone who makes you believe in your goodness, someone who supports you, who ruthlessly encourages your mind and your talent every moment you question your purpose. Fall in love with someone who is proud of you.
But most importantly — fall in love with someone who makes an effort that stretches far beyond poetic words or passive convenience. Fall in love with someone who genuinely fills your life with wonder, and foundation, and the kind of hope that spills out of you and into everything you do. Fall in love with someone who teaches you that love can be rediscovered, reimagined — transformed into something that is honest and gracious and so for you that it feels like it was knit into your every cell before you even met them. Fall in love with someone who makes you want to be vulnerable, someone who shows you that it is okay to have faith in the heart of another, that it is courageous to try for something.
Just fall in love with someone who is both your safe place and your biggest adventure. And never forget that you can also be this person for yourself, too.
Now that we have been able to establish who a soulmate is, the next thing to find out is the type of soulmate we have. There are many types but this post will only be looking into four types of soulmates.
Types of Soulmates
Not all soulmates are the stuff of life-long romance. Here are some types of soulmates to look out for in your own life.
“Romantic soulmates ignite one another’s passion throughout their time together,” explains Dr. Tobin. “They have the capacity to bring one another to heights of physical and emotional pleasure.” However, we’ve all experienced breakups, even if we were with someone who hit the hot and heavy marks. “Passion can be a brief flame that burns hot and then extinguishes. For those rare romantic soulmates, the flame burns continuously because they’re both committed to keeping the fire lit throughout their time together.”
Has it been years since you connected with a friend from elementary school, but when you do, you just click? “A soul partner is that person who you haven’t seen in years, and when you reunite, feel like time and separation have no bearing on the depth of the connection,” explains Dr. Tobin.
You know you’ve met a karmic soulmate when you’re in sync about common purposes. “You’re both here together to make a difference in the world, and your skills complement one another—you’re ideal partners to fulfill a shared mission.” This kind of relationship doesn’t require love or intimacy and instead relies on putting your best selves forward to achieve something that matters.
This is the yin to your yang, the peanut butter to your jelly—you get it. “Friends are an essential part of our lifetime journey, and those of the soulmate type help us laugh when we’re in pain, nurture us when we’re suffering, flow with us when we’re riding high, challenge us to be real, love us with our warts, and never abandon us in anger. And we do the same with them.”
As a final note, it’s important to be with someone who supports you, who ruthlessly encourages your mind and your talent every moment you question your purpose.
